About Us // Σχετικά με την ομάδα

“Constructing Siesta // Κατασκευάζοντας την Σιέστα” is an Athens-based Collective focusing on issues of urbanity, everyday culture and temporality under the thematic axis of Siesta*.

Since 2014, every once in a while, Giannis Grigoriadis, Fanis Kafantaris, Christina Vasilopoulou, Dimitris Theodoropoulos, Maria Tsigara, Marianna Xyntaraki -all practitioners of architectural/ urban/ artistic/ theoretical projects on an individual or collaborative base- meet and discuss, watch movies, eat together, working on the possible cracks of urban life and its temporal qualities.

Fruits of their meetings and the concurrent research that they are running, the projects “La ville Méridienne”, “Shetistes”, “Constructing Siesta”, “Palait Méridien”, have been presented at “Slow fest” (2014) and “Green Park” (2015). Additionally, their blog constructingsiesta.blogspot.com remains an open, ongoing archive compiling material on Siesta and a critical examination of it, from an Artistic/ Architectural/ Social point of view.
